15. Facing severe racism in the L.A. area, returning from camp after WWII.

Coming back was worse, because people were blatant with their (inaudible) here. “Not you people. You killed my family. You know, you shot my relatives.” And that was hard. And then the jobs, too. And believe it or not, even at City Hall, our Hall of Justice where I went to ask for a job.
