we’d really have to work hard and learn a lot of numbers because our repertoire had to be large because we can’t keep playing the same old things. So we learned a lot of numbers, and that’s why I was grateful to the Seiha School, too, because they had a lot of new compositions, and particularly Yasuko Nakashima, the head mistress, and her husband, Shinichi Yuize, who was prolific. He must have about 1600 works. Massive! And some of them are suites, some of them are trios, I mean three movement things. So, you know, usually Japanese music, they have just one composition at a time, but he’s grandiose, and they’re very very interesting. He’s become quite international. He had a command performance for the Shah of Iran when he was there, and Israel and a number of places by invitation. And both of them toured France in concert, and U.N. programs. So they were wonderful!
