One of her students from camp, Fumi, became her first natori (ranked credential), so she pursued dancing after she came out of camp. And she now teaches in Orange County.
M
She’s active there at the Buddhist church.
K
She started in camp and continued under my mom’s tutelage, so she got her natori and she now teaches.
S
Oh. Were there any others who continued after camp? I mean, they didn’t have to become natori. Did they take it after camp?
K
I know I heard that some people brought their students to you because they had learned from you in camp, there were people that said. There were so many of them my mom didn’t remember, but (paraphrased) “I wanted my daughter to learn, I had learned from you in camp.”
M
140 students “dakara ne” (because, right?) in camp. That was a lot (laughing)! And that was the only entertainment they had in camp, you know, so we made people very happy, I guess.
