Her husband was in kind of an entertainment business. He would bring different entertainers from Japan, and they’d to different towns where there were Japanese, a lot of Japanese, yeah, like the USO for the Japanese communities to do that. They would see, or have a chance to see “the real McCoy”, so to speak. It was interesting. And you know, in those days, before the war in J-town, they used to have a place called Yamato Hall, and it was where they held all the entertainments. Even the sumo tournaments were held there. That’s supported by, I think, a couple small streets. But anyway, so, everyone went to Yamato “Ho-ru” (Japanized), and after…ah, Yamato Hall, … it’s called “Ho-ru”, and a number of people from Japan, entertainers that were kind of known: singers, dancers, even plays, people that had produced plays would come and stay at the Japanese hotels, and then they’d put on performances there. So we had a chance to see a number of them. And they enjoyed it totally. And that was our entertainment from Japan, you know. It was a big thing. And then all the Nisei Week festivities whenever they had Nisei Week contests and things were all held at Yamato Hall. It was a very interesting, active place.
